Music Ministry

We extend an invitation to church members and non-church members alike to come be a part of the community of excellence, and authenticity found in the Music Ministry. To become a part of a Music Ministry group, contact the Minister of Music, Tom Eggleston.

Our Purpose

The four-fold purpose of the music ministry:

  1. To do all we do with excellence for God's glory. "Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy." Psalm 33:3
  2. To us the Biblical model from Colossians 3:16, "...teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."
  3. To be lead worshippers in bringing our congregation to God's presence through music and worship.
  4. To be musically mission-minded as we share Christ's love in our community and world.

Music Ministry Groups

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir seeks to be lead worshippers. They enjoy learning and singing congregational hymns and anthems twice each month. The choir meets on Sunday mornings from 10:00am - 10:50am. The fall season begins with a choir retreat in mid-August (a Friday & Saturday). They sing a wide variety of anthem styles including classical, gospel, spirituals, traditional, modern and hymn arrangements. Seasonal presentations are presented at Christmas (December), Easter (March/April) and a Hymn Tunes and Spirituals service in the fall (September). No auditions are required. We do require a love of singing and expressing God’s love through music.

Bells of Milledge

Our handbell choir performs during seasonal presentations at Christmas and Easter and a few other special occasions during the year. They rehearse during the fall and spring on Sundays at 12:15pm following our morning worship services. A simple audition is required because reading a musical score is necessary.

Instrumental Ensemble

We welcome all instrumentalists to play in our ensemble. We accompany hymns every other Sunday in our worship service. We rehearse once a month.

Children's Choir & Activities

Children's Choir & Activities will consist of the following including:

  • Hand chimes
  • Sign language
  • Creation Sound Story
  • Balloon sculpture
  • Learning a song to be sung with the Sanctuary Choir for the Christmas musical in December

Programming for monthly Sunday activity (following Sunday Service):

  • 12:15pm - Lunch in the fellowship hall
  • 12:45pm - New activity each month
  •  1:30pm - Singing / Playing
  •  2:00pm - Parent pick up

Pre-Service Musicians

We utilize a number of pianists and instrumentalists (children, youth, and adults) on a rotating basis beginning at 10:50am before our 11:00am worship service. Please let our Minister of Music know if you have an interest in participating in this ministry. An audition is required.
