MABC Church Music Scholars Info & Application

Scholarship Requirements

• Must have quality musical skills (vocal, instrumental, and/or conducting).
• Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program.
• Must sing a vocal part in the Sanctuary Choir or the Scholar Ensemble of MABC.
• Must attend weekly rehearsals and worship (3 excused absences are permitted per semester; 2 or more unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the program).
• Rehearsal: Sunday mornings, 9:45-10:45
• Worship: Sunday mornings, 11:00-12:15
• Perform in 3 seasonal concerts
• Fall Concert (Date TBA)
• Christmas Cantata: First Sunday in December
• Easter Cantata on Easter Sunday

2024-2025 Season Schedule

• The season begins with a Choir Retreat on Friday, August 23 (6-9pm) and Saturday, August 24 (9am-12pm).

Scholarship Application Steps

1. Complete this form.
2. Personal interviews and musical auditions will be held August 7-9, 2024. You will be asked to perform these at your audition:

• Vocalizing of your vocal range
• A prepared song of your choice
• Sight reading of a hymn or anthem

Positions will be offered by August 11, 2024.
