At Milledge Avenue Baptist Church we believe that the family is the center of faith development and spiritual formation for children. 

Relationships- We want our children to learn from a church FAMILY so we do our best to provide multigenerational leaders and volunteers for our children's ministry programs where children and their families can develop relationships with many different members of our church family.

Age Appropriate- We want children to learn about the love of God in ways they understand.  We provide curriculum and learning environments that foster age appropriate learning.

Safety- Families can trust that their children are cared for by workers and volunteers that have been background checked and screened.  Security tags and pager systems are in place for parent's peace of mind.

Creative and Fun- When children have fun and positive learning experiences at church they want to come back! 

Christ Centered- In everything we do, we want children to learn about the love of God and to ultimately become Christ followers.  We never sacrifice the truth of scripture for fun or entertainment.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY MORNINGS:

• Nursery for ages birth-3 years- During both the Sunday School hour and Worship service our nursery is staffed with wonderful caring volunteers as well as paid staff who will care for your children.  We assign families a pager and security tag.  If for any reason you are needed during the service your pager will vibrate.  You must present your pager and tag at the end of their service to pick up your child.
• Preschool Sunday School- toddlers, and pre-k- age appropriate lessons and fun bible learning. 
• Children's Church for ages 4 -1st grade- Because we value family centered learning, preschooler's ages 4 and up join their families for the first part of the worship service and are then dismissed after the Children's Lesson to go to Children's Church. This is a special age appropriate service just for younger children.
• Worship Bags for 4 and 5 year olds who join their families in worship.

  

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MIDWEEK:

• Nursery for ages birth - 3 years.  Infants and toddlers get wonderful care and enjoy our fun nursery while parents enjoy bible study.
• Missions Education- 3yrs-Pre-K.  3, 4 and 5 year olds learn about missions and enjoy fun activities in our TeamKid Preschool class.

 WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY MORNINGS:

• Sunday School- age appropriate classes taught by wonderful educators with fun, interactive Bible study
• Worship- Children ages 2nd grade-5th grade join their families in our worship service.  Worship bags are provided with tools to help children interact with the service.
• Children's Church for Kindergartners and 1st graders-After worshiping with their family for the first portion of the service, these younger elementary students are dismissed to go to a special time of worship designed just for them!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MIDWEEK:

• Children's Choir- Fun, active and engaging music education for children for the first portion of the study hour.
• Missions Education- During the second portion of the study hour, children are able to experience hands on mission opportunities while learning about how God is working in our world.
