Helpful Information for Guests
Where can I park?
Parking is located behind our facilities. You may access both parking lots from Marion Drive. There are also guest spots beside the Gran Ellen Drive side of the building. For accessible parking, enter from Gran Ellen Drive and follow the driveway to the right. You may also follow the Gran Ellen drive entrance around to the back parking lots. Entrances to the church are on the sides and back of the building. While we have a front door, it is not used as an entrance to the church.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. You will see a wide variety of outfit styles each Sunday. Some may wear suits or dresses and others may wear jeans and a tee shirt.
What is a typical worship service like?
Our worship style is traditional using hymns for congregational singing accompanied by an organ and a piano. Hymnals are located in the pew racks and the titles/numbers are listed in the printed order of worship. Our choir sings anthems, and we try to focus on the worship of God rather than on entertaining an audience. We follow a liturgical calendar using the Revised Common Lectionary and often use lay leadership in worship to read scripture and pray.
What time is Sunday School?
Sunday School Classes and Sunday Small Groups meet at 10:00am. We provide coffee, hot tea, and homemade cookies in the gathering room from 9:30-11:00. We also have small groups that meet at other times during the week. Read more about those classes and groups here.
What time is the Worship service?
Worship begins at 11:00am. Ushers will be outside the Sanctuary ready to greet you and give you a bulletin (a program that outlines the Order of Worship). Sit wherever you'd like in the Sanctuary! Worship typically lasts about one hour.
Do you ask visitors to stand?
We do not ask visitors to stand. We hope you will introduce yourself to people you meet before or after the worship service. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to fill out a connection form online or on paper letting us know you were there.
Will MABC welcome me?
We welcome everyone, without exception. We believe in the love of God for all persons, and we believe that inclusion is central to the gospel call to love our neighbors. We welcome questions and even doubts. We are a member of the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists.
