Meet Our Staff

PASTOR

Nathan and his family have been members of MABC since they moved to Athens in 2000, and he joined our staff in 2019. Prior to serving MABC, he spent 18 years ministering to college students at the University of Georgia. He is married to Karen, a retired middle school Social Studies teacher who currently serves as our church organist. Nathan enjoys cooking, pottery, and woodworking. They have three adult children: Sebastian, Nick, and Karlie, and a dog, Bono.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR FOR STUDENTS

Dr. Ginny Dempsey, a native Athenian, joined the Milledge Avenue staff as Associate Pastor for Students in May of 2014. Ginny is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and can be found at Sanford Stadium many Saturdays in the fall. Ginny is blessed to have an adopted daughter from China who is a teenager and plays volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Minister of Music and Worship Arts

Dr. Anne Brittain joined our staff in January of 2026. Anne is a life-long Baptist who has served churches in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. She is married to Dr. Randy Brittain, who currently serves as Pastor of Music and Discipleship at First Methodist Church in Eatonton, GA. Anne and Randy have one son, Rhett. When not making music, Anne enjoys reading, cooking, painting, crocheting, needlepointing, and showering affection on the family's three cats: Cookie, Bella, and Atlas.

MINISTRY ASSOCIATE

Susannah and her husband have been members of MABC since they moved to Athens in 2021. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the University of North Georgia. When she isn't at work, you'll likely find her outdoors on a hiking trail or at a campsite.
